Comfort food. We all can enjoy it. This past week we enjoyed it in the form of homemade Chicken and Dumplings.
A good, made from scratch chicken and dumplings, starts with a homemade chicken broth.
Yummy. I just love veggies. This is the whole chickens, with a ton of veggies on top.
Love this photo. The garlic looks flavorful, just in the photo.
Good 'ole Bertha. Remember this pot. "J" purchased her for our crab boil last year. It has served us well.
Another great shot of the ingredients getting ready to make the best chicken stock you can imagine.
Chicken stock in the process.
And complete!
So, the next part. Another whole chicken.
Lots of great herbs and flavors.
Married with some butter.
Rubbed all over.
And backed to perfection. This will be the chicken used for the actual dish. Delish!
This portion starts with carrots, celery and onions.
Nice stew going, which includes that incredible homemade broth.
The dumplings.
Stew ready for the dumplings to be dropped in!
They go in!
And cook for about 20 minutes. "J" adds some fresh herbs.
My serving. So yummy. Hits home.
The start of dessert.
Into the eggs goes sifted flour. Yep, making his own batter.
Chocolate gets added.
The homemade batter complete.
Cookies ready to bake.
Almond bark (w/ a few of JAK's own ingredients) for the filling of these cookies!
Beautiful, huh? They taste just as good.
Had to post the most recent pics of the garden. Cauliflower!
And broccoli!
The below are links to the wonderful recipes featured in today's blog. Enjoy!
Until next time....A la cuisine!
